The Harry Baals Memorial Grant for the Comedic Arts is a grant designed to help comedians achieve their dreams.

To be eligible you must; be selected to perform at the Maumee Mary & Joseph Comedy Festival.


To win you must; submit a proposal outlining how you would use the grant money to advance your comedy career. Proposals must be submitted before the festival starts. You must also perform well at the festival.

2024 Grant Winner: Drew Gigis

Drew Gigis is a Cleveland based comedian who has been performing around the Midwest for years. With a generally relaxed style, you would never know he’s fueled by anxiety. He’s recognized as the best skateboarder in the comedy community even though it’s probably not true. His witty material and solid joke structure is sure to entertain crowds all over.
